Who we are
Mike & Sons Plumbing & Heating (trading name of Mikes Plumbing and Heating Ltd) is a family run business in Southampton. Our company is an independent company and therefore we are happy to fit your own appliances if purchased from online or other shops. We specialise in installing and maintaining gas or solid fuel stoves, chimney lining/relining and are dedicated to your needs. We are Gas Safe and HETAS registered so we can ensure all work carried out is to a safe standard. With a collective 20+ years experience within the gas and solid fuel industries. We also carry out a wide range of gas fire installations and servicing, boiler installations and servicing, all aspects of plumbing. including Bathrooms and cloak rooms. We install and service domestic gas boilers in both natural gas and lpg. Unfortunately we do not carry out boiler repairs. If your home area is not listed then please do give us a ring as quite often we are willing to travel. “We were left in the lurch by builders who attempted and failed to install our log burner and flue. They had completely ignored building regulations and remedial work was required. Mike was happy to take on the job. He and Dan arrived promptly and were well prepared to prevent mess and damage within the house. Some adaption to roof timbers was required and additional timber was used to ensure the integrity of the roof. The job was completed in about 4 hours and the log burner fired up and tested. Great service by Mike, Dan and Sally in the office. Recommended.”

He also spoke on the phone with our floor fitter to ensure the best result for us. Mike and his son were quiet (no door banging or loud radios) , tidy and made an excellent job. “Steve and Dan arrived at the scheduled time (arranged after an earlier survey and quote). I had purchased stove and liner but required these to be fitted by a qualified person. They kept the work area clean through use of dust sheets and vacuum cleaner. The works were completed promptly with no issues and they also undertook some remedial work on the chimney at no additional cost. They provided lots of advice on how to get the best from the stove too. Altogether we are really pleased with work and cost. I will not hesitate to recommend Mike's Plumbing and Heating to others.”

“We have found Mike to be an excellent plumber in every respect. We first used him in January to fit another boiler (which transpired to be unfit for purpose). Mike has worked tirelessly for us trying to make that boiler work returning on numerous occasions and helping and supporting us in our complaint to the manufacturer. Mike has subsequently supplied and fitted us with a new boiler. He has at all times been polite, courteous and conscientious. I would not hesitate to use Mike again or to recommend him.”

“Great workmanship, arrived exactly when they said they would and completed the job efficiently and to a high standard. When Mike arrived to give us a quote he knew exactly what issues they would face (the old fireplace was larger than the new fire could cover) and recommended a granite 'slip' to fill then gap which I hadn't even considered. The finished job looked absolutely excellent.”
